Severing the Ego: Tantric Buddhist Chod Practice

Himalayan Heritage Meetup

Wednesday, 2.3.16
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Sold Out

Cut through your ego and purify destructive emotions in this ancient tantric Buddhist ceremony believed to have great healing powers.

In collaboration with Shijay Center NY, join us for an evening of Chod, a Tantric Buddhist practice in which practitioners visualize the cutting away of their body. The event will also include a Q&A with Lama Kunsang Thondgo Dojee—a young, roaming yogi— and a special Chod-focused tour of our galleries. This program takes place on the last Dakini Day of the Wood Sheep lunar year and welcomes the new lunar year of the Fire Monkey.

About the Shijay Center

Shijay Center is the only Dharma Center in the United States solely dedicated to the preservation of the Shijay lineage. The center offers free Chod teachings and other dharma services, such as healing and consecration rituals. The center is also dedicated to restoring Shijay texts for the use of Chod practitioners and pilgrim sites in India and Nepal where mahasiddhas practiced.

Shijay Center was founded by Lama Kunsang Thongdo Dojee, the heart son of Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche. Along with receiving teachings and empowerments from Wangdu Rinpoche, he is also one of the few remaining yogis to have completed the 100-day Chod retreat, including the 108 charnel grounds pilgrimage.

This program is now SOLD OUT.
