Mindful Connections Online

For Visitors with Dementia and their Caregivers

Thursday, 7.13.23
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Mindful Connections Online is a free monthly program that offers engagement between adults living with dementia and works of art. Join Rubin Museum staff and teaching artists for an hour of close looking, discussion, and interpretation of traditional and contemporary Himalayan art.

On July 13, we will explore transformative practices through ritual, art, and writing. Our guest speaker, Tracy Cochran, is a meditation teacher, author, and guide who will lead participants in an engaging mindful writing exercise. Participants are encouraged to have a writing utensil and a piece of paper available to record their reflections. Selections of Himalayan art from the Rubin’s collection will include a bone apron, used for tantric rituals and dance, and a statue of the Buddhist deity Vajradaka. We hope you will join us!
