Sundays are for families! Bring your family to the Rubin Museum for a Sunday afternoon of activities both kids and grownups will enjoy. Drop into the Education Center for some art-making, enjoy our 2:00 p.m. family exhibition tour, and go on your own thematic gallery search.
May Sundays: Transcendent Tales
Celebrate the story of your past, present, and future by building your own crankie, a portable storytelling panorama. Our May project honors Saga Dawa (the birthday of Buddha Shakyamuni) and the Rubin’s exploration of the Second Buddha Padmasambhava’s legacy of storytelling. Just as the Rubin’s exhibitions tell stories with sculptures, thangkas, and other artworks, your crankie will tell your story with the words and images of your choice—let your imagination run wild!
Support
Family Sundays are made possible by New York Life. Additional support has been provided by Agnes Gund, Con Edison, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
