1960, Wolf Rilla, UK, 77 min.
At one and the same time, a child is born to every woman in the isolated English village of Midwich. These children grow with unnatural speed into beautiful, blond-haired youngsters with fiery, hypnotic eyes, a telepathic bond with one another, and no love or conscience for others. Can any force on earth stop their supernatural fury?
“As a quietly civilized exercise in the fear and power of the unknown, this picture is one of the trimmest, most original and serenely unnerving little chillers in a long time.”
—Howard Thompson, New York Times
