About the Speaker
Kembra Pfahler is an artist and rock musician best known as the painted lead singer of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, a theatrical death rock band she co-founded in 1990 whose performances combine music, drawings, and films. The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black has toured extensively and has recorded four albums. Pfahler has since taken part in exhibiting her work in exhibitions in both the Whitney Biennial and Deitch Projects. Most recently, Pfahler has been featured in a special film produced by the Independent Film Channel on her group called I Believe in Halloween.

Admission to the Museum’s galleries is free every Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Tickets for the talk are free, but limited in availability and given away on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 5:45 p.m. Limit two tickets per person.
