Rasinah: The Enchanted Mask examines the history, function, and spiritual meaning behind the nearly forgotten Topeng dance of Indonesia.

At the age of 72, Mimi Rasinah is called out of retirement to revive the ancient form of mask dance called Topeng, which originated in West Java, Indonesia. Rooted in Islamic mysticism, the spiritual significance of the masks and dances were passed on from generation to generation until its recent decline in popularity. Directed by Rhoda Grauer, Rasinah: The Enchanted Mask traces the history and spirituality of these nearly forgotten masked dances.
