Artists on Art
Friday, 6.3.16
6:15 PM - 7:00 PM
Inspired by the exhibition Genesis Breyer P-Orridge: Try to Altar Everything, exhibition curator Beth Citron and contemporary artists engage in informal dialogues about Breyer P-Orridge’s work and their own.
Tauba Auerbach (b. 1981) is an artist living and working in New York. Her work addresses principles of topology, symbology, and logic, probing the patterns and slippages therein. Though best known for her painting, Auerbach works in a wide variety of media, including weaving, glass, photography, 3D printing, bookmaking, and musical instrument design. In 2013 she founded Diagonal Press to formalize her ongoing publishing practice.
Auerbach’s work is included in the collections of MoMA, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Centre Pompidou among others. She is represented by Paula Cooper Gallery, New York, and STANDARD (Oslo), Norway.
