The Power of Myth: Masks of Eternity

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
All cultures create “masks,” or rather names and symbols for God, to serve as metaphors for inexpressible transcendence. In The Power of Myth: Masks of Eternity, Campbell and Moyers provide challenging insights into the concepts of God, religion, and eternity.
Post-screening discussion moderated by Maria Taveras.
“A myth is a mask of God, a metaphor for what lies behind the visible world…the realization of wonder and also the experience of tremendous power which people living in the world of nature are experiencing all the time. God is the manifestation of the energy, not the source.” – Joseph Campbell
