Here are a few guidelines we've created to help you have the best possible museum experience. If you're planning a visit specifically for a PreK- 12 audience, click here to learn more about how to best prepare your group, including unique places in the area you can take students to enjoy their lunch.

Prepare your students for the museum by learning more about the images and iconography found throughout the galleries. Pick up a Looking Guide, located on the 2nd Floor, just outside the elevators.

The Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room is a must-see stop on any tour at the Museum. See an example of how the art on view can be used and enjoy the calming nature felt by many who experience this space. Try the Shrine Room Interactive in the classroom. This virtual exploration of the Shrine Room allows students to learn more about the objects on view and see them in greater detail.

Create a research project for students about the art found at the museum through the online collection. Note: All of the objects found in the online collection are not currently on view.

Help prepare yourself and students by visiting the educational resources online for activities, lesson plans, audio tours, and more. These resources are great for learners of all ages and can be used before, during, or after a visit at the museum.
