Brainwave®: Emotions

Brainwave®: Emotions

October–December 2022

You live inside your head, but do you understand how it works? Our annual BRAINWAVE® program series investigates how our minds shape our everyday experiences through onstage conversations and immersive experiences that combine the most compelling advancements in science with traditional Himalayan wisdom.

Brainwave® 2022: Emotions

Five lives. Five experiences of our most challenging emotions. Five programs. Join us for this special BRAINWAVE® intensive between people from all walks of life navigating challenging emotions, and scientists poised to explain the workings of the mind as it develops or redirects these afflictive states.

Based on the Mandala Lab and the Vairocana teachings that inspired it, each session of this short series offers ticket holders the opportunity to join author and performer Kevin Townley for a tour of the galleries. Engaging with the Rubin Museum’s collection and the interactive Mandala Lab, the program examines how both sacred and secular art can help unlock the wild wisdom of human emotion. Tours are 35 minutes and given twice on the BRAINWAVE® evenings: Fridays, October 14, 21, and 28, and December 2 and 9 First tour: 6:00 PM prior to the theater program at 7:00 PM; Second tour: 8:30 PM or directly after the program.
