Beginner’s Mind
What is mindfulness, and how can it support family life? Explore the tenets of mindfulness and learn how to apply them in everyday family interactions. This first of four sessions focuses on cultivating a beginner’s mind approach to parent-child interactions. Leave behind preconceived notions of parenting and approach your family dynamics with a fresh eye. Each session will combine instruction with exercises that help you apply new concepts and behaviors. As part a cumulative series, each Mindfulness for Families session will set a foundation for subsequent ones while providing accessible entry points for newcomers and single-session attendees.
This program is designed for children ages three to seven with accompanying adult(s).
Family Programs are supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
