Hooked on Game of Thrones? Discover real world parallels in art and history at the Rubin Museum on a special tour.

Inspired by the HBO series and George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels, the tours feature highlights from the Rubin exhibition Faith and Empire: Art and Politics in Tibetan Buddhism and makes connections between the ideas, characters, and storylines in the series. Explore the ways that the intersection of politics, religion, and art have shaped the history of the world and play into the fictional world of Game of Thrones.

Faith and Empire: Art and Politics in Tibetan Buddhism is supported by Fred Eychaner, Ann and Matt Nimetz, Zhou Yu Quan, the Zhiguan Museum of Art, the Ellen Bayard Weedon Foundation, the E. Rhodes & Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, Lisina M. Hoch, Christopher J. Fussner, the Thomas and Frances Blakemore Foundation, and Yury Khokhlov.
